From Bare Faced Lies to Bare Faced Liars

“What disturbs me is that the comments on social media piece together historic incidents (much of which is in the public domain) over a long period of time to give the impression that the allegations relate to young people at risk today.
— Sean Fielding, Leader of Oldham Council

Contrary to what SEAN FIELDING may want the people of Oldham to believe, information secured through Freedom of Information request to Greater Manchester Police has revealed that in the 10 year period between 2008-2018, the police had recorded a total number of 502 crimes that they had flagged as involving child sexual exploitation. As uncomfortable as the news may be for SEAN FIELDING and his associates at Oldham Council, the truth is that young people are very much at risk today.

Though this information should have been known to SEAN FIELDING, not only has he failed to inform members of the public of the figures, incredulously, both Oldham Council and the GMCA appear to have agreed on an extremely narrow Terms of Reference for an Assurance Review that would exclude the vast majority of these known crimes. And this is before any attempts to unearth unreported crimes where victims were too scared to come forward or failings by the Authorities who even knowing what they did, failed to report incidents of child sexual exploitation.

The GMCA Investigation is now being described as an Assurance Review. Their involvement has come about following the Council’s own Investigation/Inquiry/Review (SEAN keeps changing the name, it’s getting difficult to keep up) spectacularly collapsed after the resignation of the Council’s own appointed investigator, before the work had even started. SEAN FIELDING remains tight lipped as to why the ‘renowned’ Dr Mark Peel retreated from what he was tasked with.

And it was following the collapse of the Council led Oldham inquiry that the services of ANDY BURNHAM were hastily secured. Yet already, before BURNHAM’s team have even started their work in Oldham, concerns have been raised as to whether the Assurance Review in Oldham is a damage limitation exercise.

Why Andy Burnham’s Assurance Review cannot be allowed to continue in its current form

The narrow Terms of Reference of the Assurance Review, are at odds with the investigations conducted in other towns and cities where failures were finally exposed. Bizarrely, ANDY BURNHAM, who’s team is heading up this Assurance Review, appear to be comfortable that the Council being investigated is determining the what, where and when is looked at.

It is now confirmed that this latest attempt at an investigation will ‘focus on historical allegations relating to child sexual exploitation and consider whether the council, with its partner agencies, provided an 'appropriate response to protect children vulnerable to or known to be victims of child sexual exploitation' and specifically consider ‘allegations made on social media involving shisha bars, taxi companies and children’s homes, the Review will cover the period from 2011 to 2014 and also consider the specific case of one woman who complained about the handling of her case during 2005 and 2006.’

Neither ANDY BURNHAM nor SEAN FIELDING appear willing to comment on how they reached such a narrow scope for an investigation in to the grooming, rape and trafficking of White working class girls in Oldham. We know that none of the investigations in Manchester, Rochdale or Rotherham had any restrictions placed on them.

For example, as the Terms of Reference currently stand for this Oldham Assurance Review, the recent disclosure by a mother of her 13 year old child who was groomed, abused and trafficked from the gates of Counthill School in Oldham would be excluded from being investigated. As would the vast majority of the 502 crimes that Greater Manchester Police have on file.

Whilst there is no sense to be had from SEAN FIELDING, concerned citizens have written directly to ANDY BURNHAM raising their concerns and provided him with overwhelming evidence of cases in Oldham that would fall outside of the existing Terms of Reference.

The Greater Manchester Mayor, ANDY BURNHAM, who is usually prolific on social media, has so far remained silent and instead has had several of his officers respond. These responses have been both contradictory and also confusing.

An initial response stated the following

Thank you for your email and for providing information regarding the independent review into child exploitation.
Unfortunately as this is an independent review we are unable to receive information which could feed into its outcome.
If you or anyone else you may know wants to provide information to the review you will need to call the independent helpline 0808 168 9024. This service is provided by victim support.
I hope you have found this information useful.

Kind Regards
Charles Wosu
Project & Policy Officer
Police, Crime and Fire

Note that Charles Wosu is claiming that the GMCA is ‘unable to receive information which could feed into its outcome’. As for the independent helpline number he provides, a quick call confirmed that they have no idea what the review is about. I’m afraid your email wasn’t at all useful Charles.

A separate email was also sent out by someone higher up than Charles.

Thank you for your email regarding the Independent Review into allegations of child sexual exploitation in Oldham.

It is important that any review of this nature has a starting point to provide focus based on stated allegations. However, as can be seen from the Independent Review into CSE and Operation Augusta published last week, the review team have done an independent and thorough job and they will do the same with the allegations relating to Oldham and will follow the evidence wherever it takes them.

We will ensure your comments are provided to the review team who will consider all evidence and be in touch as appropriate.

Kind regards

Clare Monaghan

Director for Police, Crime, Criminal Justice and Fire GMC

Unfortunately, Clare Monaghan must have missed what was sent out by Charles Wosu, even though they work in the same organisation. Clare claims she is able to ‘ensure your comments are provided to the review team who will consider all evidence’ .

So which one is it? Can people input in to the Review or not?

Clare is of course also talking complete nonsense. Terms of Reference exist for the sole purpose of specifying the scope of an investigation. If the investigators could go wherever the evidence would lead them, they would not be restricted by a 3 year timeframe and a single case dating back to 2005.

As for claiming that the investigators will follow the evidence wherever it takes them, by now most have seen the email involving the BBC journalist Kevin Fitzpatrick and the now MP for Oldham West & Royton, JIM McMAHON. Does anyone really believe that the investigators will question JIM McMAHON, or force out from Oldham Council, his email archives? After all, this is the same JIM McMAHON who claims ‘limited knowledge’. Seems to be a pattern here of Labour Party politicians and their Council Officers who didn’t know that working class White girls were being groomed, raped and trafficked by Asian Grooming Gangs.

The emerging evidence of the scale of the abuse in Oldham

I’ve attached below the data of crimes flagged by Greater Manchester Police as involving Child Sex Exploitation. It can clearly be seen, that of the 502 crimes that the Police hold information on, child sex exploitation in all of its forms has taken place across every area of Oldham. In a later post I will provide some analysis of what the data is telling us. But for now, rest assured that with everything we have released to date, the accusation of bare faced lies couldn’t be further from the truth than ever before.,

Between 2008-2018 GMP flagged a total of 502 reported crimes across Oldham as child sex exploitation

The evidence is damning. Child sex exploitation is prolific in Oldham. Experts will tell you that the vast majority of victims do not come forward. A conservative estimate would be to double the official numbers resulting in over 1,000 victims in our town.

Knowing everything we now know, the obvious question I have is how many of these 502 reported crimes have led to convictions. After all, that is what the cover up essentially has been all about. That children who were raped were ignored. As to why they were ignored, the true reasons in my opinion have nothing to do with the lack of resources or ‘community relations or the fear of being called a racist. The true reasons I believe it that it was acceptable for Labour Party politicians to trade the safety of White working class girls in exchange for the Asian Cartel controlled block vote that helps keeps them in power.

Perhaps someone could ask SEAN FIELDING at his next Council meeting how many individuals have been convicted in relation to these 502 crimes and ask him to provide a demographic breakdown of the ethnic backgrounds of the victims and perpetrators. Maybe he will surprise us all and his response will be something other than bare faced lies.
